NCATE Schedule

 

Cindy K. distributed the schedule for the team visit.  The schedule will also be available on line once the IR is posted. 

 

 

Poster Session/Reception

 

The team wants to learn what is expected of students in each instructional strategies course.  They will want to talk to both faculty and students in each course.  The portfolio exhibit will be in the library on Sunday evening.  Steve will be opening the library at 4:00.  Faculty are asked to choose 1-2 students to be present at their class exhibit (either current or previous students).  A list of students participating in the exhibit should be given to the Education Division.

 

• A request was made for an orientation session for participating students.
• Martha asked if there would be a floor plan so the exhibits can be integrated.
• Al Edwards needs electric.
• Linda Meyers needs a laptop and electric for Power Point presentation.
• Vickie Hyre needs a laptop and electric for Power Point presentation.

 

 

Instructional Strategies Meeting

The Instructional Strategies Faculty meeting will be Monday, November 8, 10-10:45 in Room 2536.  The Board of Examiners will meet alone with faculty.  They will ask about relationships between faculty and the Education Division.  If unable to arrive at 10:00 because of teaching schedule, come late if possible.  The following faculty plan on attending the meeting:

            Beth Cox—Beth will speak to Cullen Sutton about attendance at this meeting.

 

 

Questions/Answers

 

The team will be wanting to know the level of interest of faculty.  The questions will be general in nature.  Dotty Muir will send support staff from offices that interact with students such as Learning Center, Testing, Advising Center, Financial Aid.

 

Faculty should not plan on pulling students from class.  If needed, David Lancaster or Cindy Kelley will talk with faculty about student attendance.

 

Cindy K. said that the Education Division still needs student work samples.

 

Beth Cox will be borrowing student art work from the division.

 

Dotty Muir volunteered Janet Ogilvie’s former office for work space.
