LIBRARY PERIODICALS. In order to meet expected budget cuts, the library will drop 47 periodical subscriptions in academic year 2013-2014. All titles are available in full text on the library's databases, or on the World Wide Web. A list of these titles is available at the library circulation desk. COLLEGE CHORALE CONCERT. The College Chorale of West Virginia University at Parkersburg will present its Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1001 Juliana Street, Parkersburg. The concert will include sacred works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Adrian Batten, Dimitri Bortnianski, and W.A. Mozart, poetic settings by Ola Gjeilo, Chen Yi, Halsey Stevens, and Gwyneth Walker, and the premiere of a new setting of Mary of the Wild Moor, a West Virginia folk song, arranged by West Virginia State University professor Dr. Dirk Johnson. The College Chorale is conducted by Dr. H.G. Young III, Professor of Music. The concert is FREE and the public is invited. (submitted 5/16/13)

CULINARY ARTS ACADEMY OPEN HOUSE. There will be an open house at the Culinary Arts Academy at the WVU Parkersburg Downtown Center for faculty and staff on Wednesday, May 22 from 9 – 11 am and Wednesday, May 29 from 3 – 5 pm. SECRET PAL SIGN UP. It is that time of year again for our Secret Pal sign up. Pat Mollohan has agreed to be the Secret Pal Fairy this year. Please get the forms to her by May 31. DEADLINE EXTENDED. The deadline for completing the online Sexual Harassment Prevention Course delivered by Workplace Answers eLearning has been extended to June 1. All current employees of WVU Parkersburg, including adjunct faculty and student workers, should complete this interactive course. By doing so, you will be informed of your rights and your responsibilities, and WVUP will meet an important obligation to deliver training to all employees. As employees it is your responsibility to recognize potential harassment and to know what you should or should not do if harassment is reported to you. CITIZEN OF THE YEAR. Dr. Marie Foster Gnage has been selected as the 2012 Citizen of the Year by Parkersburg Elks Lodge 198. The banquet honoring Gnage will be at 6:30 pm April 27 at the First Presbyterian Church Hall, 1341 Juliana St., Parkersburg. FISCAL YEAR 13 PURCHASE DEADLINE. To ensure your purchases are paid for out of the FY 13 budget, the cut off date for all purchasing is June 14, 2013. Please have all purchase requisitions approved and submitted by June 12, 2013, and the purchasing office will make every effort to ensure the charges billed to the correct fiscal year. FBMC CONTACT INFO UPDATE. FBMC, who manages dental care plans, vision care plans and flexible medical spending accounts, among other benefits for our employees, will have a new Service Center and phone number effective March 4. (submitted 2/26/13)

BUSINESS CARD ORDERS. To accommodate multiple requests from departments for business cards, we ask that you submit orders via the project request form. Please include all of the contact information you wish to appear on the card in the form. MISSION STATEMENT. In November, faculty and staff attended a town hall meeting where we discussed HLC accreditation efforts. Everyone was asked to submit ways in which they support the college's mission statement. Here are the responses received. (submitted 1/7/13)

STAFF HANDBOOK. A revised handbook has been prepared by the WVU at Parkersburg Staff Council and is available online. The handbook was designed as a helpful guide to all classified staff members. (submitted 8/3/12)
