70 Applications Received to Date for
Presidency

Seventy applications have been received thus far for the presidency of West Virginia University at Parkersburg, according to search committee chair Karen LaRoe, president of West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
Applicants represent 31 states and one foreign country and include professionals from higher education institutions, the public sector, business and industry.
Dr. LaRoe said the field will be narrowed in the coming weeks, while additional applications continue to be accepted and considered.
WVU Parkersburg President Eldon Miller announced in September that he would retire in June 2000. Dr. Miller joined WVU at Parkersburg in 1982 as the institution’s fourth president.
A new campus president and regional vice president of WVU is expected by July.
