Job Search Workshop

West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Cooperative Education and Placement Office and the WVU at Parkersburg Alumni Association are offering a job search workshop for recent Mid-Ohio Valley graduates on March 23 at the college.

The free workshop will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the auditorium of the Caperton Center for Applied Technology. The session is designed to help graduates develop job search skills and to prepare for the upcoming Tri-College Career Consortium on April 11.

Topics will include "communicating with employers," "Presenting oneself professionally," "employers’ responses to resumes," and "legal issues concerning interviewing." Presenters will include Sandy Swisher of WVU Parkersburg; Robert Kent of Bowles, Rice, McDavid, Graff and Love; Kristi Deem of Simonton Windows; JoEllen Butcher of the Professional Women’s Association and Marvin Boyce of the Alumni Association.

The session is designed to help graduates develop job search skills and to prepare them for the April 11th spring job fair, the Tri-College Career Consortium, sponsored by WVU Parkersburg, Ohio Valley College and Washington State Community College.

Graduates may register for this free workshop by calling the college’s Co-Op and Placement Office at 424-8208. Due to limited seating, deadline for registration is March 20.
