Theatre Department Presents Hamlet

News Release

The Theatre Department of West Virginia University at Parkersburg will present "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark," on March 10, 11 and 12 in the College Activities Center.

Not your typical Shakespearean production, it is the conception of director David Sindledecker who describes his vision of the play as "an intergallactical tragedy in five quadrants of time." To mark the new century, Sindledecker is presenting the Shakespearan play with an outer space concept.

"Intergallactical space opens a myriad of creative choices for a director," Sindledecker explained.

Showtime is 8 p.m., March 10 and 11 and 2 p.m., March 12.

Cast members include Charles Wilcox of Ellenboro; Stephanie Lyons of Belleville; David Prather, Bob Reese, Misty Buckley, Katie Gandee, Travis Roberts, J.T. Hickman, and Olivia Ullmann, all of Parkersburg; Noel Landvoigt of Highland; David Van DeVelde and Michael Tanner, both of Washington; Emily Decker of Friendly; Lori Dodson of Ravenswood; Jeff Wilson, Matt Lyons, and Andrew Strock, of Vienna; Wesley Custer of Mineral Wells; Lori Haught and Christina Holleran, both of Williamstown; Kristie Shingleton, Nick Busch and Bill Miller, all of Elizabeth.

Tickets for the production are available in the college Business Office.
