Foundation Announces 2001 Visual Awards

Two West Virginia University at Parkersburg students have received
the Charles and Neva Harrison Awards for Excellence in Visual Arts.The Board of Directors of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation presented the awards at its June meeting.
Amanda Shockey of Ripley received an award for her ink and wash titled Inside Out. After completing her education, Ms. Shockey will pursue a career as a graphic artist.
Jessica Riddle of Parkersburg received an award for her three-dimensional bronze creation titled Gluttony. Ms. Riddle has completed her studies at WVU Parkersburg. She is enrolled at Marietta College for the fall semester, where she will pursue a degree in studio art.
Each student received a check for $500. Their artwork will become part of WVU at Parkersburg's permanent collection.
