WVU Parkersburg to host free blues concert in observance of Black History Month.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEA free blues concert featuring Columbus-based Shaun Booker and the Nu Breed Band will be held at noon, Monday (Feb. 27) at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Open to the public, the concert is sponsored by the college's Social Justice program in observance of Black History Month. The two-hour show will be held in the college's multi-purpose room.
Ms. Booker has opened for legendary blues artists including B.B. King, KoKo Taylor, Robert Lockwood Jr., Buckwheat Zydeco, Carl Weathersby and Lonnie Brooks Sr.
Her current band Nu Breed Band was formerly known as the New Blues Revue. In addition, she also fronts the band Paradise Island which specializes in Motown, oldies and cover tunes. She is a founding member of the band Welfair Gypsy, a group that does original rock, folk, blues and R&B.
