FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWest Virginia University at Parkersburg has the second lowest in-state tuition in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Of 459 public four-year institutions nationwide, WVU Parkersburg is the second most affordable institution in the nation. In 2005-2006, in-state students at WVU Parkersburg paid tuition/fees of $834 per semester.
“While we are pleased to be cited for our affordability, our emphasis is always on the quality of our students’ experiences in the classroom and on campus,” said WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage.
“Our mission as a community-based institution focuses on providing accessible education dedicated to academic excellence," she added. "The listing reinforces that we are a regional bargain."
The most affordable tuition is at the University of Hawaii-West Oahu where in-state students pay $1,368 per year.
