CANCELED - The performances of "A Company of Wayward Saints" have been canceled by the director.

WVU Parkersburg Theatre Department to stage "A Company of Wayward Saints" on Dec. 8-10, 2006.

"A Company of Wayward Saints" will make its way to the college theatre stage of West Virginia University at Parkersburg at 8 p.m., Friday (Dec. 8) and Saturday (Dec. 9) and at 2 p.m., Sunday (Dec. 10).

The George Herman comedy features Mike West, Liz Adkins, Allen Withrow, Caena Stewart, Jymme Hornbeck, Nicky West, Evan Kyle, Ryan Greywolds, Megan Jett, Evan Kyle, and Jake McClung.

All performances will be in the college theatre and are free of charge.

The company is a commedia dell' arte group who wander by mistake into the eye of an allegory. They are humanity, wayward saints all, who are far from home and without means. A nobleman may be their salvation if they can put on a good show for him. The Company chooses to present the history of man, from the Garden of Eden through Everyman in birth, adolescence, marriage and death. Along the way, they enact other wayward adventures such as the assassination of Julius Caesar and the homecoming of Odysseus. It is a mosaic of life redeemed by humor and human understanding.
