FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEGrantwriting Basics, an introduction for the new grantwriter and a refresher for those who are skill-polishing, will be held Friday, April 28, at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
The 9 a.m. to noon class will meet in the college's Corporate and Community Education Center. An afternoon class, Preparing a Grant Application, will go into depth and work through an actual narrative and budget for a sample grant project. That class will take place from 1-4 p.m., and include a visit to the college's library and new Foundation Center collection. Participants will also receive 30 days of grant proposal critique and assistance via e-mail.
Topics to be covered include: r
esearch and identification of appropriate sources; preparing the required documentation for your organization to be grant-ready; developing relationships with potential funders; understanding the terminology and completing the paperwork; elements of a narrative; creating a clear budget, and tracking and evaluation methods.Registration information is available by calling Martha Leeson at 304-424-8277 or e-mailing martha.leeson@mail.wvu.edu.
