WVU Parkersburg to observe "Support Our Troops Week."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In a salute to the country's armed services, West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Student Government Association is sponsoring "Support Our Troops Week" beginning Monday (Sept. 11).

Monday (Sept. 11) will be "Patriotic Ribbon Day."  There will also be a campus 9/11 memorial ceremony at 11 a.m.

Camo Day will be observed on Tuesday (Sept. 12).

On campus Wednesday (Sept. 13) will be representatives of the U.S. Armed Forces, including the Army, National Guard, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.  Demonstrations and hands-on activities will include paintball targets, repelling, knot tying, self defense, rock wall, and various military vehicles, include a Blackhawk helicopter, a Heuy helicopter and an Air Force SUV.  Representatives of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion will participate in the day as will Miss Teen West Virginia.   

Thursday (Sept. 14) will be "Red, White and Blue Day" and students are encouraged to dress in patriotic clothing.
