West Virginia University at Parkersburg has received a $25,000 Governor's Community Participation grant to benefit the college's Nursing program.

Sen. Frank Deem, R-Wood, secured the funding for the college.

The grant will be used to purchase technology-related equipment, materials and software for WVU Parkersburg's Nursing program. The equipment includes simulation software and a sympodium that features a laptop, document camera, projector, smartboard and dvd/vcr.

The Community Participation Program provides state grant funds for community and economic development projects throughout the state of West Virginia.
