WVU Parkersburg faculty member among three vying for WV Professor of Year honors.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEA West Virginia University at Parkersburg faculty member is among three finalists for the 2006 Professor of the Year award which will be announced Tuesday (March 6) in Charleston.
Phil McClung, a professor of psychology, will be honored at a reception at the Governor's Mansion along with the other two finalists Barbara Guyer, professor of special education at Marshall University, and Sylvia Shurbutt, professor of English at Shepherd University.
Following the reception, a banquet will be held at the Cultural Center where the Professor of the Year will be officially announced. The winner will receive a glass trophy and a $10,000 award sponsored by United Bank. The second and third finalists will receive awards of $1,000 and $500.The Professor of the Year program is conducted by the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia, Inc. The Foundation recognizes and rewards outstanding teaching among the faculties of West Virginia’s public and private institutions of higher education.
