WVU Parkersburg hosting 2008 fall conference of the West Virginia Foreign Language Teachers Association.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg will host the fall conference of the West Virginia Foreign Language Teachers Association on Sept. 19-20.Conference sessions will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days.
The conference marks the organization's 40th anniversary. Keynote speaker will be Marilyn Phillips Carpenter, the state organization's first president.
Presentations will be featured on Apple technology, teaching cultural perspectives, literacy, video conferencing, continuous storyline videos, becoming proficient with podcasts, achieving standards, and motivating students to listen actively. Publishers' exhibits and hands-on computer programs will be on display during the conference.
The state language affiliates for French, German, Spanish, and classics will also meet during the conference. Awards will be presented to the best foreign language teachers in the state.
The conference is open to foreign language teachers of all levels from public to higher education.
