Six "Children's Champions" honored for their contributions to children.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASESix "Children's Champions" were honored recently for their outstanding contributions to children.
Local agencies that work directly with young children and their families nominated the honorees in a celebration co-sponsored by West Virginia University at Parkersburg and the Wood County Family Resource Network.
Recognized for their work were the following 2009 Children's Champions: Janet Collins, owner of a family child care facility; Shauna Davis, educator; Theresa Hayner, behavior consultant; Helen Wilson, director, WV Birth to Three, Region 2; Dr. Robin Wisard, retired educator and volunteer coordinator with CASA of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, and Linda Dickirson, retired educator and childcare advocate.
A banquet in their honor was held in the Caperton Center atrium on the WVU Parkersburg campus.
