FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Coldwater Creek Lecture Series will explore "Entrepreneurs as an Economic Engine" in a free lecture presentation at 5 p.m., Tuesday (Sept. 22) in the college theatre.

The lecture will focus on how small businesses should be utilized as an engine for economic development rather than relying on large business for job growth.

Featured presenters will be Parkersburg business owners Doug Kreinik of Kreinik Mfg. Co., Inc., an international business focusing on thread, and Gene Watkins of RAJCO, LLC.

Kreinik Mfg. Co. Inc. was established by Kreinik's parents, Estelle and Jerry in 1971 in Parkersburg.  Kreinik’s background is in retailing, sales and marketing, manufacturing, and computers. He has appeared on PBS and has written for various trade publications.  He lectures extensively around North America on his products and the textile arts.

RAJCO has been in business for 10 years.  Watkins attended West Liberty University majoring in Political Science.  Watkins has served various companies for 30 years holding positions in production and management. He has also served on various committees for the Chamber of Commerce.

The lecture series is free and open to the public.
