WVU Parkersburg Theatre Department to present Shakespeare Fest 09

WVU Parkersburg Theatre Department conducting auditions for Shakespeare Fest 09 productions.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Theatre Department will be conducting open auditions for its summer Shakespeare Fest 09.

Audition dates are 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday (May 16 and 17) and 5 to 8 p.m., May 18-22. Auditions by special appointment will also be held.

Production dates for Shakespeare Fest 09 will be July 7-12. The summer’s productions will include "The Tempest" and "The Taming of the Shrew" and will be produced in an outdoor venue setting.

Both productions will require approximately 20 cast members each with some overlapping chorus parts, Jeff Byrd, theatre instructor, noted. Prospective cast members should be familiar with both plays and have one set audition piece from either show for the auditions.
