WVU Parkersburg to host author of "From Coal Fields to Oil Fields & Beyond--A Life in Pursuit of All I Could Be" in Feb. 18th presentation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEThe author of "From Coal Fields to Oil Fields & Beyond--A Life in Pursuit of All I Could Be" will befeatured in a free presentation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday (Feb. 18) at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Sylvester C. Myers will share his story of transformation from a youngster in a coal camp shack in McDowell County to a cost management expert with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to owner of his own construction management company.
His program will include the presentation of a documentary film sequel to his book. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers, and a book signing will follow. The program is open to the public and will be held in the college theatre.
Recently presented the Distinguished West Virginian Award, Myers is an alumnus of Bluefield State College and a graduate of the George Washington University School of Business and Public Management. The West Virginia native is president and CEO of S.C. Myers & Associates, Inc., a construction management firm that he owns. He founded the Washington, D.C.-based company in 1988 after retiring from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers following 25 years of service.
Based on his world-wide experiences, Myers will discuss how talent and ambition together with discipline and determination create a powerful recipe to achieve success.The program is sponsored by the Social Justice Committee in observance of Black History Month.cd02/10/09
