WVU Parkersburg names new CFO.

A former Lansing (MI) Community College finance administrator is the new chief financial officer at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

Photo of Vincent MensahVincent Mensah has been selected to join the WVU Parkersburg administrative staff following a recent national search. 

"Vincent's experience in higher education and state agency finance management is invaluable as the college continues forward with enrollment growth and program expansion," noted WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage.

Mensah assumes responsibility for development and implementation of the institutional operating budget; receipt of all college income; authorization of payment of all obligations; development and implementation of required finance, business and administrative process improvements, and policies for effective use of college resources.

Most recently, he served as director of financial planning at Lansing where he directed the budget development and budgetary control process for the college's $120 million budget. 

He also served as administrative officer and business manager for several State of Michigan agencies for many years.

Mensah received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Ghana, his master's degree in business administration in financial management from Cranfield University, and his doctorate in economics from Wayne State University in Detroit.  He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
