FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWest Virginia University at Parkersburg will host an Earth Day celebration on Wednesday (April 21).
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., several activities are planned in the college's multi-purpose room, including an electronics recycling booth by Varietech; an eco-house display; student project presentations; a movie booth; tree giveaways from the Division of Forestry, and a keynote presentation by Larry Gibson of the Keeper of the Mountains Foundation.
The celebration is sponsored by the college's Psi Beta honorary and Psychology Club. It is free and open to the public.
Those wishing to recycle electronics may bring them to the Earth Day observance. Electronics items will be accepted with the exception of refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, CRT or tube type televisions or monitors or anything larger than 1.5 square foot.
