First annual Border Battles Basketball Tournament to
be held Feb. 18-19, 2011.

The first annual Border Battles Basketball Tournament will be held
Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18-19, featuring six West Virginia and Ohio college
teams.
Tournament host is West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Participating will be junior varsity and club sports teams from Eastern Gateway Community College, Hocking College, Washington State Community College, Ohio Valley University, West Virginia Wesleyan College, and WVU Parkersburg.
The two-day tournament will kick off at 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, in a contest between WVU Parkersburg and OVU. The game will be played at OVU’s Snyder Activity Center.
On Saturday (Feb. 19) , the tournament moves to the Parkersburg High School Memorial Field House. Tipoff is at 10 a.m. with Hocking and Washington State. At 11 a.m., WVU Parkersburg plays WV Wesleyan. At 12:30 p.m., Hocking will play Eastern Gateway. A 2 p.m. game will feature WV Wesleyan versus OVU. Eastern Gateway and OVU will play at 3 p.m. The tournament champion will be decided at 6 p.m. and feature the winner of the WV bracket versus the winner of the Ohio bracket.
Admission is $4 for the entire tournament. WVU Parkersburg students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a college ID card.
