WVU Parkersburg's executive director of institutional advancement to retire.

The college spokesperson at West Virginia University at Parkersburg is retiring.
Connie Dziagwa, executive director of institutional advancement, has been at the
college for 32 years. She has announced her retirement, effective at the end of May.
Dziagwa joined the college's staff in a communications specialist role in 1979. She has served as the college's
spokesperson and public information officer since 1986. Prior to her tenure at
the college, she was the education reporter at The Parkersburg Sentinel.
At WVU Parkersburg, she has developed and been responsible for internal and
external communication mechanisms, ranging from safety-related campus
initiatives and a closed circuit tv network to the college's web presence and
social media.
She is a former chair of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of
the Mid-Ohio Valley and the United Way Alliance. She also served as chair of
the West Virginia Higher Education Public Relations Council.
WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage said a national search is currently under way
to fill the position.
