WVU Parkersburg’s baccalaureate tuition among lowest in country CONTACT: Anthony Underwood, vice president for student services, 304-424-8209 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Parkersburg, W.Va. 7/6/11 – Federal officials recently released online lists showing the higher education institutions with the highest and lowest tuition costs. West Virginia University at Parkersburg was among the top five percent of most affordable colleges offering bachelor’s degree programs. The lists, which can be found at www.collegecost.ed.gov, allow students and families to determine the schools with the best value. The average cost for tuition and fees at public four-year colleges in the U.S. was $6,397. WVU Parkersburg’s cost for four-year programs is significantly below that at $2,076. "At a time when many of our students and their families are still challenged by economic concerns, WVU Parkersburg is proud to offer excellent, affordable and accredited bachelor programs that will lead to better jobs and a better life,” said Vice President of Student Services Anthony Underwood.
