WVU Parkersburg hosts "Issues Facing Higher Education" program with Bruce Flack, Ph.D.

Parkersburg, W.Va. 9/24/12 – Former Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) vice chancellor Dr. Bruce Flack will speak at West Virginia University at Parkersburg on Saturday, Sept. 29. His presentation, “Issues Facing Higher Education in the 21st Century,” begins at 9 a.m. and is free and open to the public.
During his time with the HEPC, Flack served as director of academic affairs and was appointed interim chancellor in 2005. He previously served as professor of history, vice president for academic affairs, and interim president at Glenville State College. Flack holds the A.B. degree from Otterbein College and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in history from Ohio State University. He has been active in a number of regional and national higher education initiatives, and has served on national councils of the College Board and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
This program will be held in WVU Parkersburg’s Caperton Center auditorium, room C102. This presentation is co-hosted by WVU Parkersburg’s Office of Academic Affairs and the Humanities Speaker Series. For more information, contact Dr. Nancy Nanney at 304-424-8361.
