Jackson County Center helps local Army reservists prepare for deployment

Parkersburg, W.Va. 3/6/13 – West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Jackson County Center (JCC) recently provided use of its computer lab to Army reservists preparing for deployment. The 21 personnel will deploy in April to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

The reservists only have three computers at their Millwood location and needed to complete online training, so they asked for assistance from JCC. The use of the college’s computer lab allowed them to finish the necessary training more efficiently. They were also able to work as a team to achieve individual goals.

"It is important to help our military men and women whenever possible," said JCC director John Gorrell. "We were happy to provide the computers and the space they needed for training in appreciation of their service to our country."
