OLSIS PASSWORD ISSUE

While testing the accounts for the new eCampus UserID system, the Center for Teaching & Technology staff discovered that there is a potential error for OLSIS passwords working for eCampus logins.

The following explains the issue and how to resolve it.

When the Online Student Information System (OLSIS) asks a student to create a PIN or password, the system allows you to key in as many characters as you like.  However, the system is really only reading the first six characters

This means, if you type in the word PASSWORD in the OLSIS system and then attempted to log into to eCampus, you  will receive an error.  The eCampus system will not know that you actual thought you typed in the full word but will only be able to see PASSWOR.

To solve this issue, do the following:

1.  You can log into your OLSIS account and change your password to a six character word and wait until the data is synced during the nightly update at 8:30 p.m.

OR

2. You can drop the remaining characters from what you perceived your original OLSIS password to be.
