Faculty - Is Online Teaching for You??

Are you teaching traditional classes, but considering trying to teach online classes?  Be aware that teaching online requires the instructor to create and support an online learning environment that requires him or her to have certain skills to be an effective online facilitator of knowledge. You should seriously consider your computer skills, teaching style, attitudes, and habits before venturing into online instruction.  Take a quiz to see if you have what it takes to teach online.

WVU eCampus Orientation

The Center for Teaching and Technology has been listening to the students' cries for an opportunity to participate in the eCampus Orientation from the convenience of home.  With that in mind, we are going to conduct this term's e-Orientation completely online!

Every student, whether they are an "e-veteran" or new to online courses, will have access to the orientation class in eCampus.  Students who have not yet completed an orientation in the past will be expected to follow through with the assignments.

In addition to the online orientation, instructors will provide you with a "Getting Started" section within the course that will then allow students to get a feel for your particular methods of instruction.

Students who would like to have hands-on guidance to the learning management system, WVU eCampus are welcome to attend training sessions during the first two weeks of classes.

The online schedule can be found here.
