Take
your time!
To achieve the best, most positive tone for each
assignment, you must take your time when writing! You can't be in a big hurry.
This is particularly important as you are developing your writing skills early
on. The very best scenario is to follow these steps:
The
next day (or a few days later!), proofread the document again. Proofread
once for content. Does it fulfill the objective? Does it address each
question or issue that was presented in the case/exercise material? Does
it make sense? What about the tone? Is it positive? Check the facts (dates,
addresses, financial amounts, etc.) against any specifics given in the case. Proofread
again for mechanics and format. Read it OUT LOUD AND BACKWARDS to
catch errors in spelling or typos that the computer may When you use this multi-day process, your
documents will be better than if you create and proofread the document all in
one setting. Don't procrastinate! |
