Taking Exams and Quizzes:

When you have completed the reading and preparation for the chapters covered on your next quiz, you're ready to go to eCampus and take the "real" exam.

Note that there is a time limit -- usually one hour -- for completing the exam once you begin.  The time limits should be generous enough to allow you to work through the exam.

Obviously, you may use whatever resources you have available as you take the quiz.  If you try to look up every question in the book while taking the test, however, you may run out of time before completing all the questions on the test.

Since you may repeat the exams (usually 2-3 times; check your course), you'll want to use your time wisely and develop a strategy that will help you be successful on each exam and learn the material well.

After you take the exam the first time (if you're not satisfied with your score), you'll need to determine what you need to study more, go back and re-read the text and the course content materials online for those content areas.

There is no penalty for taking the test more than once.  You should definitely consider repeating the exam if your score is less than an A!  The advantage, in addition to the obvious, is that you really LEARN the material and learn from your errors on the previous attempts.

Once you are satisfied with your score on a quiz, you may move on to the next section of the material.  There is no need to email me with your score.  The scores are automatically saved on the server in Vista and are available to me at any time.

The highest score you post for each exam will be the one that counts toward your final grade.

Deadlines:  Pay close attention to the deadlines for exams.  Some exams will be available through the Amnesty Day or last day of class.  Others may be available for only a few weeks.  Make sure you have completed all attempts of the exam BEFORE the final date it is available.
