WVU at Parkersburg Media Center
West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Media Center provides a variety of multi-media services to the campus. Among these are:
The Media
Center is responsible for coordination of the satellite downlink for graduate
and undergraduate classes and interactive video classes, including the West
Virginia University MBA program.
Also, the Center houses WVU Parkersburg's audio-visual equipment. This equipment includes TV/VCR sets, camcorders, slide and filmstrip projectors, audio cassette players, etc. The Media Center Video Catalog includes more than 2,000 video tapes, 145
16mm films, and various kits.
Ten stations for viewing class-assigned videotapes are monitored by the staff. The Media Center, located in Room 2210, is open from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Staff deliver and pick up equipment that has been requested for classroom use. They are available to trouble shoot and/or instruct in the use of equipment.
The Media Center maintains the closed circuit television used to distribute the latest information on class schedules, the weekly cafeteria menu and special events sponsored by the college.
Some production services such as editing video and copying video and audio tapes are provided by the Media Center.
