Community Preparedness Training

.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg is working with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to offer introductory continuing education courses in community preparedness.  This pilot program will assist UPMC with evaluating/refining its approach.  Volunteers are needed to take the courses and provide feedback.  This pilot program is free of charge, and participants will receive a certificate documenting each successful course completion.

WVU Parkersburg’s “Schoolhouse Project” is centered around four introductory courses:

1. Community Resilience

2. Business Continuity

3. Cyber-Security

4. Bio-Incident Response

The training modules are delivered in a convenient online format. Each module takes around an hour to complete.  They are self-paced, but three open-house sessions in the Corporate and Community Education computer lab are available for computer use and for assistance with the material.  The lab dates are May 14, 21, and 28th each from 5-6:30pm.  The project is flexible—if you prefer to work at home, that is fine as well.

Space is still available.  Act now—please remember space is limited!
