The Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology prepares qualified individuals to work under the supervision of a radiologist to perform imaging examinations to help diagnose and treat medical conditions. The student will operate imaging equipment and prepare patients for procedures. The student will follow safety protocols to ensure minimum radiation exposure and produce quality images for the radiologist interpreting the images. Through a combination of classroom presentations and clinical experiences, the student will develop a knowledge of becoming a radiologic technologist in the healthcare environment.
The program includes courses in general and technical education. Clinical experiences are offered under faculty and mentor supervision at Camden Clark Medical Center and Jackson General Hospital. The program’s mission is to develop entry-level radiographers that are prepared to improve the health and wellness of our community by providing students with a highly advanced technological clinical experience and an education that is conducive to student empowerment while providing life-changing opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.
West Virginia University Parkersburg School of Radiologic Technology is an applicant program and is under review by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the only agency recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography and other imaging specialties.

Nursing and Health Sciences Division programs have limited enrollment and a selective review process. Applicants requesting admission to the Radiologic Technology program must first meet the requirements for general admission to the college and be admitted to the college. In addition to meeting all general admission criteria for the college, applicants must complete a separate Nursing and Health Sciences application.
Applications will be accepted year-round.
Application forms are available in the Nursing and Health Sciences Division office
or click here.
For an application to be complete, each applicant must:
It is important to note that completion of the application process does not imply that the applicant will be admitted to the radiologic technology program. Acceptance and placement in the program are dependent upon the individual’s academic record and upon the number of spaces available.
