Description
Students who complete the program will be prepared for entry-level positions in the automotive industry as an automotive technician in dealerships, independent repair facilities, and other similar establishments.
The student will:
- Learn basic automotive troubleshooting skills in the various automotive systems, including but not limited to electrical systems, HVAC systems, and brakes.
- Learn how to perform inspections or tests to complete standard maintenance jobs
- Learn about safety standards in automotive shops
- Learn basic soft skills necessary in a professional workplace including time management, communication, and customer service
- Learn how to follow procedures/guidelines/checklists and complete tasks in the order in which they need to be completed
- Be able to apply knowledge of theory and safety to accomplish certain tasks related to the occupation.
- Be able to identify and use appropriate tools/equipment to accomplish a task
