Description

Students who complete the program will be prepared for entry-level positions in the automotive industry as an automotive technician in dealerships, independent repair facilities, and other similar establishments.

The student will:

• Learn basic automotive troubleshooting skills in the various automotive systems, including but not limited to electrical systems, HVAC systems, and brakes.
• Learn how to perform inspections or tests to complete standard maintenance jobs
• Learn about safety standards in automotive shops
• Learn basic soft skills necessary in a professional workplace including time management, communication, and customer service
• Learn how to follow procedures/guidelines/checklists and complete tasks in the order in which they need to be completed
• Be able to apply knowledge of theory and safety to accomplish certain tasks related to the occupation.
• Be able to identify and use appropriate tools/equipment to accomplish a task
