Peer Recovery Support Specialist

This 75-hour course includes showing/internship experience. The training explores active listening, cultural competency, appropriate self-disclosure, ethics, certification testing, and other important skills essential to achieving the Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification through the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP). The services a Peer Recovery Support Specialist offers can effectively extend the reach of treatment beyond the clinical setting into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process. Participants must be in recovery at least 12 months per the WVCBAPP.

Course Student Learning Outcomes:
- Achieve the Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification
