The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) of West Virginia University at Parkersburg recognizes the service of our veteran students to our country and the sacrifices made in the process. It is our goal to provide a learning environment that conveys the college’s appreciation and offers the tools and services necessary for veterans to achieve academic success. Over 200 veterans and dependents are currently taking advantage of the many degree certificates, associate and bachelor’s degrees, and other classes and programs to further their academic and professional interests.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg welcomes all men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Whether you are a discharged veteran, still serving on active duty, in the National Guard or Reserves or a family member, we are committed to supporting and encouraging your success. The VRC can assist you with access to resources at the college and in the community.
The Veterans Advocate acts as a liaison between the student, campus departments, the VA, and other government and outside agencies. Students can work with the Veterans Advocate to get questions and issues resolved. The Veterans Advocate can also assist with initiating the GI Bill Benefits, making sure your transition back to school is a successful one.
The VRC has developed a Military/Veteran/Dependent Welcome Packet to assist you with your initial process at our college. We hope it is helpful to you and if you have any questions during your initial process or during your time with our school, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to support you in any way we can.
